In an interview with Asharq Business, Omar Radwan, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), said the exchange is studying the introduction of several financial products. This includes carbon certificates, gold trading, and an exchange for startups. He further noted that some of these products require legislative or regulatory amendments.
He also added that the exchange is working to encourage family-owned businesses to list on EGX. This is through highlighting the advantage of the country’s recent amendments to the tax system.
He further emphasized that the exchange is prepared to accommodate additional public offerings from both the public and private sector. This comes at a time when the market is equipped in terms of trading volumes, investor participation, legislation, regulations, and financial instruments.
