Saudi’s AILA Raises USD 3M to Scale AI-Driven EdTech

The Saudi EdTech company will use the funding to expand into new markets and develop its AI powered personalized learning platform.

Saudi education technology startup AILA has raised USD 3 million in a pre Series A funding round. This comes as it looks to scale AI powered personalized learning across the region and beyond.

The round was led by Rua Growth Fund, with participation from Jo Academy, 500 Global, Bunat VC, and Fikr Ventures.

Why You Should Care

AI is increasingly changing how students learn and how schools assess performance, but much of the opportunity lies in making those tools more responsive to individual learning needs.

For Saudi Arabia and the wider region, AILA is positioning itself around that shift by building education technology designed to identify where students need support and adapt learning and practice accordingly.

The funding also comes as education systems across the region continue to explore how AI can improve outcomes for students while giving educators better visibility into performance.

The Details

Founded in 2023 by Yousef Alsayed,Abdulaziz Bin Mugayel, and Nouf Bin Mugayel, AILA is an education technology startup. It develops AI powered learning technology for students, educators, and schools. Its platform analyzes student performance to identify learning gaps, personalize learning and practice, and provide support based on individual progress.

The company’s products include AILA Tests, an AI native platform designed for personalized exam preparation in schools, and AILA Labs, its research and development hub for developing and testing new AI powered education solutions.

AILA plans to use the new funding across three areas: entering additional regional and international markets, expanding its AI powered learning capabilities, and reaching more students, educators, schools, and education systems.

“This investment lets us bring personalized, AI-native learning to more students at a moment when education systems across the region are rethinking what’s possible with technology.” said Yousef Alsayed, CEO of AILA.

The Ripple

The investment adds to the growing pool of capital going into AI focused startups in Saudi Arabia, while highlighting the role of local companies in developing technology for the region’s education systems.

AILA’s investor group could also bring more than capital as the company expands. Jo Academy adds education sector expertise and regional experience, while the broader investor group brings networks and market knowledge that could support new partnerships and market entry.

For the EdTech sector, the company’s emphasis on AI native assessment and personalized learning points to a broader shift from digital education tools toward systems that use student data to adapt the learning experience.

What to Watch

AILA’s next phase will center on expansion into new regional and international markets, alongside further development of its AI powered learning products.

How effectively the company converts its existing traction with Saudi schools into wider adoption will be an important measure of its growth as it works toward its goal of becoming a leading AI native education platform and making personalized learning accessible at scale
