Saudi’s GAIA Raises USD 1.5M to Build Sovereign AI for Enterprises

Saudi enterprise AI startup Gaia raised USD 1.5 million in a pre-seed round led by SEEDRA Ventures. It develops an AI platform designed to help organizations search, understand, and act on information without sending their data outside the company.

With the funding, it aims to continue developing its platform and work with enterprises on AI applications for operational challenges. The raise comes as Saudi organizations accelerate digital transformation under Vision 2030.

Why You Should Care

For many enterprises, adopting AI is not simply a question of having access to better models. Their information is spread across email, documents, CRM and ERP systems, and other business applications, making it difficult to build a complete picture of what the organization knows.

Gaia is positioning its platform around that problem. Rather than requiring organizations to move their information into a separate environment, the company connects existing systems through a single operational intelligence layer while keeping data within the organization.

That approach addresses two issues that often limit enterprise AI adoption: fragmented information and concerns around data security. Gaia also builds human oversight into its AI agents, with higher-risk actions requiring approval before execution.

The Details

Founded by Badr Al Malluh and Mohammad Rababah, Gaia is a sovereign AI platform for enterprises. It connects knowledge, files, systems, emails, and workflows into a single operational intelligence layer where data never leaves the organization.

Looking ahead, with the funding, it aims to continue developing its platform and working with enterprises to apply AI to real operational challenges.

Its mission is to become the organization’s one brain to find, understand, and act on its knowledge. Its Enterprise Search function provides instant, cited answers across every connected system, showing exactly which file, thread, or record the information came from. Thus, employees can search across all company knowledge with regard to what they already have access to. Upon searching, employees receive generative AI answers grounded in their own data with cited sources. It also has a hand cross-system work to AI agents, with important steps routed to a person for approval.

Meanwhile,  its AI Assistant generates responses based on an organization’s own knowledge base and links back to original sources. Purpose-built AI Agents go beyond answering questions to complete tasks across applications. Moreover, they can automate recurring work such as summaries and reports, and run full workflows. However, Gaia emphasizes that it remains permission-aware, while high-risk agent actions are routed for human approval before execution.

The Ripple

Gaia’s funding adds to Saudi Arabia’s growing enterprise AI ecosystem. This is with a focus on technologies designed for organizations that need greater control over their data.

Its focus on keeping organizational information within the enterprise could make the platform relevant to businesses handling sensitive internal knowledge. Meanwhile, its agent capabilities extend the use case from information retrieval into workflow automation.

The company’s positioning also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader push to develop locally built technology and accelerate digital transformation under Vision 2030.

What to Watch

Gaia’s next phase will center on turning its sovereign AI proposition into widespread enterprise adoption.

Gaia will continue developing its platform and working with enterprises to apply AI to real operational challenges. The new funding will support the company’s continued product development and expansion as it builds its presence in Saudi Arabia’s growing enterprise AI market.
