Saudi’s Tarabut Raises USD 50M to Expand Embedded Finance Infrastructure

Tarabut secured USD 50 million (SAR 187M) in financing as the regulated finance platform sharpens its focus on Saudi Arabia. It is also working on expanding its embedded finance infrastructure.

The regulated finance platform will use the strategic financing to expand embedded finance for SMEs and consumers across the Kingdom.

The financing was announced on September 9, 2026, in Riyadh and comes from a group of Saudi financial institutions and family business groups. The backers include Riyad Bank, the X Tech Fund managed by SAB Invest, GIB Saudi Arabia, Zamil Group, and Kanoo Ventures.

Why You Should Care

Tarabut is positioning its infrastructure around a specific challenge in financial services: helping institutions make financing decisions using real financial behavior rather than relying primarily on static documentation.

This is particularly relevant for SMEs, where traditional underwriting processes can require extensive paperwork and take weeks before businesses receive financing. Tarabut’s platform gives financial institutions access to live cash flow information, allowing them to assess businesses closer to the point when financing is needed.

The model also extends to consumers who may be difficult to assess through traditional credit frameworks. By giving institutions a broader view of financial behavior, Tarabut aims to support wider access to finance while aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Financial Sector Development Program.

For Saudi Arabia, the financing comes as Tarabut concentrates its expansion on the Kingdom, which it describes as the region’s largest financial market and the center of its embedded finance strategy.

The Details

Founded in 2017 by Abdulla Almoayed Tarabut is a regulated finance platform.  It connects banks, distributors and consumers across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrai

The new capital will support the development of complete embedded finance journeys that bring verification, decision-making, and financing together within a single flow. These services are delivered under the partner institution’s own brand. Thus, allowing financial institutions to provide financing without taking customers out of the transaction where the need arises.

For SMEs, the company is targeting the gap between when financing is needed and when traditional systems can provide it. By incorporating real-time financial behavior alongside conventional documentation, Tarabut aims to give lenders a more current view of a business’s financial position.

The same infrastructure can also help institutions assess consumers who may have limited visibility through conventional credit systems.

“We built a regulated platform across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, and this financing will allow us to take everything we have proven across the region and go deeper where it matters most: Saudi Arabia. The biggest prize is SME finance. Financial institutions want to serve more creditworthy businesses, and our infrastructure helps them turn real financial behaviour into a clearer picture for decision-making,”

Abdulla Almoayed, Founder and CEO of Tarabut

The transaction remains subject to relevant regulatory approvals, including approval from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

The Ripple

Tarabut’s expansion places more attention on the infrastructure layer behind embedded finance rather than on individual financial products.

For banks and other financial institutions, this infrastructure can provide a way to bring financing into existing customer transactions while using more current financial information in the decision-making process. For SMEs, the potential impact is a shorter path between demonstrating financial health and accessing capital.

The model also creates a broader role for fintech infrastructure in Saudi Arabia’s financial sector. As institutions look to serve more businesses and consumers, platforms that connect financial data, assessment, and financing could become increasingly important to how those services are delivered.

The involvement of banks and established family business groups in Tarabut’s financing also signals interest from institutions already operating within the market the company is targeting.

What to Watch

Tarabut will set out the next phase of its embedded finance platform in the coming months.

The key signal will be how the company translates this financing into new products, integrations, and deeper deployments with financial institutions across Saudi Arabia. Its ability to turn real-time financial behavior into faster financing decisions, particularly for SMEs, will be central to whether its infrastructure can scale alongside the Kingdom’s broader financial sector ambitions.
