Tatweer Misr Eyes IPO on EGX by Next Year

Tatweer Misr, an Egyptian real estate development company, says it expects to meet one of the Egyptian Exchange’s key listing requirements by the end of 2026. This follows more than two years of governance and financing preparations.

Why You Should Care

A public listing would mark a significant milestone for one of Egypt’s private real estate developers at a time when companies are increasingly exploring capital markets as an additional source of funding alongside traditional financing.

The Details

As reported by Alarabiya Business, in a press conference, Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, CEO and Managing Director of Tatweer Misr, disclosed that Tatweer Misr expects to be ready for a potential listing on the Egyptian Exchange next year.

According to the CEO & Managing Director, the company has spent more than two and a half years strengthening its governance framework and diversifying its financing instruments in preparation for an IPO.

During the press conference, the CEO disclosed that the company expects to complete three consecutive years of profitability by the end of 2026. He further explains that this would satisfy one of the Egyptian Exchange’s listing requirements and strengthen the company’s readiness for a future offering.

In an interview with Alarabiya, he discloses that the company has almost finalized the appointment of an IPO advisor but declined to disclose the selected firm.

The Ripple

The planned IPO preparations coincide with continued investment in large-scale residential and tourism developments. This reflects how some Egyptian developers are pursuing capital market readiness while expanding project pipelines. For the Egyptian Exchange, additional private sector listings could contribute to efforts to broaden the market’s issuer base.

What to Watch

Tatweer Misr’s next milestone will be completing its 2026 financial year. According to the company, achieving a third consecutive year of profitability would leave it positioned to determine the timing of a potential listing on the Egyptian Exchange.

This allows it to assess the appropriate timing for a potential IPO while continuing to advance its long-term development pipeline.
