1001 AI
Headquartered in both London and Dubai, 1001 raised USD 9 million in a funding round. The round was led by CIV, General Catalyst, and Lux Capital. It also received backing from regional and global leaders including Chris Re, Amjad Masad (Replit), Amira Sajwani (DAMAC, PRYPCO), Khalid Bin Bader Al Saud (RAED), and Hisham Alfalih (Lean).
Founded by Bilal Abu-Ghazaleh, 1001 AI, is an AI startup creating AI infrastructure for critical industries across MENA. Thus, the two month old company is building an AI native operating system for decision-making in critical industries. This includes sectors like aviation, logistics, and oil and gas. It claims that with this system it could cut inefficiencies that cost billions in losses.
Artificial Intelligence
Up next, with the funding, it aims to accelerate early deployments across aviation, logistics, and infrastructure. It also seeks to recruit top engineering and operational talent.
MENA is scaling rapidly as new airports, ports, and mega-projects continue to rise every year. This led to the rise in the demand to digitize, optimize, and scale quickly. Additionally, operators are eager to adopt technology that delivers real-world outcomes. Thus, 1001 is aiming to develop an AI that solves these physical world problems at scale.
The company’s momentum began with pilots with tier-one logistics operators and an initial collaboration with regional developers. In these partnerships, it is working on how applied AI can reimagine large-scale operations.
It’s betting that the next industrial leap will come from AI that rewires how the physical world runs.
