Ras El Hekma

What happened? Modon Holding P.S.C (Modon) and Elsewedy Industrial Development signed a letter of intent (LOI) to build and operate a new industrial zone servicing the Ras El Hekma mega project in Egypt.

The industrial zone will span 10 million sqm and will be located south of the Alexandria-Matrouh Highway. This is opposite the Ras El Hekma site being developed by Modon

What is the purpose? The industrial zone aims to focus on attracting investors and manufacturers for building material. This is to ensure timely, cost-effective construction while introducing advanced, sustainable materials.

Additionally, the zone aims to leverage its connectivity to major roads, airports, and high-speed rail network aiming to enhance and localize supply chains as development progresses.

Industrial Zone

Who are they? Modon is an Abu-Dhabi based holding company. It specializes in investment, real estate development, project management, and asset management of hospitality, labor accommodation and other properties.

Meanwhile, Elsewedy Industrial Development is an integrated industrial and logistics cities developer. Moreover, it specializes in creating fully functional and customizable integrated industrial developments.

Why does this matter? Beyond the construction phase, the vision for the industrial zone aims to establish a sustainable industrial ase that drives year-round economic activity, job creation and contribution to Egypt’s GDP.

Furthermore, it aims to strengthen Egypt’s position as a hub for trade and manufacturing. Additionally, by diversifying into new sectors, the zone seeks to support regional projects along Egypt’s North Coast. It also aims to expand into key export markets such as Libya and Europe.
This will also support the vision for Ras El Hekma to become a hub for industrial innovation and a globally competitive city. Moreover, the zone expects to generate more than 20,000 new jobs, in order to reinforce its goal to become a catalyst for economic growth.
