What happened? Bahrain-based startup Sellou closed USD 3 million in a seed funding round.

What will they do with the funds? The startup aims to develop its platform and expand its reach across MENA. Additionally, it aims to strengthen its position as a video-based marketplace. 

E-Commerce

Who are they? Sellou is a social e-commerce startup founded by Salman Al Khalifa in 2020. The startup’s platform targets individuals and small businesses aiming to help sellers promote their listings more effectively.

 Sellou’s platform enables sellers to showcase their products using video technology. This is done through an easy-to-create mini store that can be integrated with Whatsapp and Instagram. Furthermore, this feature aims to simplify and streamline the buying and selling experience. The platform also integrates a live chat system to facilitate communication between sellers and interested customers.

The platform also allows sellers to manage and schedule posts across social media platforms directly from the app. 
It is worth noting that Sellou was chosen by Tamkeen in the first cohort of the Riyada Business Accelerator program. Additionally, Tamkeen supported the startup’s participation in LEAP 2025, providing them an opportunity to engage with the global technology scene.
