Tarjama

So what is happening? MENA’s language tech startup, Tarjama just secured USD 15 million in a Series A funding round led by Global Ventures.

Other participants included Wamda, TA Ventures, Phaze Capital, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst

The proceeds aim to accelerate the rollout of Tarjama’s Arabic.AI agentic ecosystem, its flagship platform. Furthermore, the platform aims to help organizations solve complex business processes with AI agents tailored for the region’s unique needs.

So what is the story? Founded in 2009 in the UAE, Tarjama is a language solutions tech company. With over 2 billion words processed across 50+ languages and 22 Arabic dialects, it’s built one of the deepest Arabic linguistic datasets on the planet.

Tarjama’s flagship product, Arabic.AI, is built on Pronoia V2, a state-of-the-art, Arabic-first large language model (LLM). The model serves as the backbone of the platform, enabling advanced language understanding tailored to regional business needs.

Nour Al Hassan, Founder and CEO of Tarjama, said “We see enterprises struggle with Arabic; but Pronoia transforms day-long tasks into minutes -fundamentally changing how companies can operate in Arabic markets. It is a comprehensive AI ecosystem. We look forward to the future with great confidence.”

Arabic.AI

Arabic.AI, But Make It Enterprise The new capital will go toward scaling Arabic.AI, specifically for Arabic speakers and business processes in MENA’s USD 3 trillion economy.

The platform targets enterprises that need cultural fluency, context awareness, and task-specific performance, all with enterprise-grade security.

Why does it matter? Most generative AI platforms still fall short when it comes to Arabic. Tarjama is positioning itself to address that gap, focusing on localized solutions for the region’s 400 million Arabic speakers. As MENA digitizes fast, demand for Arabic-first AI tools is no longer emerging,  it is becoming impossible to ignore.

Bottom line: This round does not  just scale a product. It signals the rise of homegrown, language-first AI platforms built by and for the region.
