Ovasave
What happened? UAE-based Ovasave, a Hub71 FemTech startup, secured USD 1.2 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by PlusVC, Annex Investments, and New York-based 25 Madison. It also saw additional backing from the UAE and Saudi-based strategic angel investors and prominent family offices.
What is next? With the newly acquired capital, the startup aims to support regional expansion across the GCC and scale corporate partnerships. It also aims to launch the next phase of the Ovasave mobile app. This will include menstrual cycle tracking, symptom monitoring, access to care, and AI-driven treatment protocols.
Torkia Mahloul, Co-founder and CEO of Ovasave, said, “There is a critical need for timely intervention in women’s health, particularly around fertility and hormonal health. This funding marks a crucial step in our mission to disrupt women’s health and expand access to fertility and hormonal care across the region.”
Additionally, it plans to expand its operations to Saudi Arabia this summer as part of a broader MENA three-year expansion strategy.
FemTech
Why does this matter? The raise comes as the UAE accelerates national reforms in healthcare and women’s rights. Thus, it provides a good opportunity to foster FemTech innovation.
Majd Abu Zant, Co-founder of Ovasave, said, “Abu Dhabi’s focus on innovation, healthcare, and entrepreneurship has created a competitive environment for founders and investors alike.”
Additionally, the funding comes amid growing investor interest in women’s health and fertility innovation across the MENA region. Furthermore, the FemTech market is projected to reach USD 3.8 billion by 2031 according to a report by FemTech Analytics (FTA).
Who are they? Ovasave is a femtech startup with a focus on fertility and women’s health. It aims to shift women’s care from reactive to proactive. Furthermore, it aims to design its solutions to reduce costs, and improve outcomes. Additionally, it seeks to make it easier for women to access support in an area that is considered taboo and under-discussed.
The startup is registered with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and supported by Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, Hub71.
