  • Instabug is now Luciq, rebranding to reflect its shift from bug reporting to agentic mobile observability and enterprise focus.
  • Luciq is building AI systems that automate repetitive tasks, letting engineering teams focus on creativity, speed, and product innovation.
  • Backed by Accel and Insight Partners, Luciq already serves global leaders like DoorDash and T-Mobile and is eyeing regional expansion.

Luciq

Instabug, the Cairo-born startup known for its bug reporting tool, has officially rebranded as Luciq. The move marks more than a name change, it signals the company’s ambition to redefine how mobile apps are built, maintained, and experienced.

When Instabug launched, its name made sense. The company helped developers squash bugs quickly. But over the years, the platform has outgrown that narrow image. Today, Luciq is betting on what it calls Agentic Mobile Observability, an AI-powered way to shift teams from reactive debugging to proactive, predictive, and even autonomous issue resolution.

Thus, it moves issue handling from reactive debugging to proactive identification and autonomous resolution by AI agents. This also transitions observability from manual operations to predictive, proactive insights, leading to significantly faster development and delivery velocity.

AI Systems

In practice, that means AI systems designed to remove repetitive engineering tasks. Instead of large teams bogged down by manual monitoring, Luciq enables smaller, agile groups to move faster and focus on innovation.

“We’re not just rebranding. We’re building a new category in AI and mobile,” the company said in its launch announcement.

Luciq’s momentum is backed by investors like Accel and Insight Partners, with a customer list that already includes DoorDash, T-Mobile, and dozens more global leaders. Additionally,  the company started expanding in new regions, including the Middle East and Africa, markets where mobile-first adoption is booming.

Luciq is not just renaming itself. It is reimagining what mobile development teams can achieve when AI takes on the heavy lifting.
