Cairo Airport

The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) in cooperation with Orange Egypt launched an interactive virtual assistant powered by AI. 

The virtual assistant, named “Maryam,” can communicate in Arabic and English to assist travelers across Cairo International Airport. It will serve as an intelligent digital companion, simplifying and enriching every stage of the airport travel experience.

Eng. Aiman Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN), stated, “The launch of ‘Ask Maryam’ at Cairo International Airport is a milestone in our journey toward full digital transformation.” 

Modern Smart Interactive Devices (SID) across the airport will help passengers and visitors instantly access key travel and facility information. Thus, they will be able to receive instant answers to any inquiries related to flight information and schedules. As well as, travel and arrival procedures, locations of facilities and services inside the airport. It will also guide users to transportation options, taxis, limousines, and nearby tourist attractions to ensure a smoother travel experience.

Smart Airport Solutions

The launch of “Maryam” aligns with EHCAAN’s integrated digital transformation strategy, which aims to deliver a new generation of smart airport solutions. Moreover, this aligns with Egypt’s national digital transformation agenda.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to adopting cutting-edge smart solutions that enhance the passenger experience and strengthen the global competitiveness of Egyptian airports. We are already working on rolling out this service across other Egyptian airports, starting with Sphinx International Airport in time for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum,” said Eng. Aiman Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN).

This initiative highlights Egypt’s commitment to adopting smart solutions that enhance efficiency and passenger experiences in its airports. Moreover, plans to expand this service to other airports, beginning with Sphinx International Airport in time for the Grand Egyptian Museum opening.
