Saudi-based social media platform, Bubbl, has successfully raised USD 350,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by angel investor Abdullah Al Dosari. The platform, which was launched in March by Aya Alhamoud, aims to capitalize on this fresh injection of capital. That is to broaden its reach across the Kingdom and internationally.

Rapid User Growth

Since its inception, Bubbl has quickly gained traction, attracting 60,000 active users daily. This rapid user growth has catapulted the platform to the top of the Apple App Store in Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Alhamoud expressed that the goal is to reach one million daily active users. The company is to utilise the new funding to enhance the app’s features and expand its market presence.

Bubbl Local Innovation with Global Ambition

Abdullah Al Dosari, the lead investor, sees Bubbl as a platform with the potential to rival global social media giants.

 He noted that the platform introduces localized features that meets the needs of Saudi users. The app is also having the scalability to compete in international markets.

Bubbl represents a shift in a space that was previously dominated by a handful of global players.

The app also differentiates itself by offering a unique social media experience. The platform integrates a widget that allows users to display live text feeds. This can be done from their closest friends directly on their Home Screen.

Moreover, this streamlined approach makes it easier for users to share their thoughts. Users can share their statuses, and insights with a small circle of up to 20 people.

With this feature, users can stay connected by viewing updates every time they unlock their phones. Also they are adding an element of immediacy and intimacy in their interactions.
