What happened? Aria Ventures, a specialised venture studio, launched an approximately USD 1 million (EGP 50M) investment fund. This investment aims to support promising startups in the deep technology sector. 

It also aims to bridge the gap between pioneering research and market application. This is with the goal of fostering deep technological innovation. 

What is next? The venture studio aims to increase funding to approximately USD 4 million (EGP 200M) over the next four years. This is in line with its mission to support deep technological innovation in the region.

Dr. Amr Al-Awamry, CEO of Aria Ventures, said, “The company’s model combines strategic capital deployment with direct involvement to bridge the gap between pioneering research and market-ready startups.”

Who are they? Aria Ventures operates as a venture studio, concentrating on deep tech innovation across various sectors. These sectors include industry, agriculture, healthcare, AI and machine learning, biotechnology, industrial digitalization, Internet of Things (IoT), nanotechnology, and robotics.

Dr. Amr Al-Awamry, CEO of Aria Ventures, stated, “We work on building startups from the ground up by validating ideas, assembling teams, providing technical and commercial infrastructure, and supporting projects through early growth stages.” 

The venture studio recently launched its DeepTecher competition aiming to nurture technological research into viable deep tech projects. Thus, it aims to provide an opportunity for participants to showcase their ideas and receive the support needed to transform them into promising startups. Furthermore, the competition will include several evaluation and mentoring stages. It will also offer prices and funding impurities for those selected.
