- Over 25,000 contestants and 6,500 teams across Egypt are competing in Digitopia, the country’s largest national technology competition.
- The competition offers EGP 10 million in prizes, including a grand prize of up to EGP 1 million per track.
- Participants from ages 10 to 35 will compete in AI, software, gaming, digital arts, and cybersecurity, judged by 90 experts.
Digitopia
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MICT) launched its first edition of the national tech competition Digitopia in August 2025. As a large competition in the iCT sector, its total prize value is EGP 10 million, including a grand prize of up to EGP 1 million.
Additionally, it offers participants training opportunities with global and local technology companies. It also offers training with organizations specializing in training and skills development.
The competition is organized under the supervision of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI). It is also under the supervision of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and Egypt University of Informatics (EUI).
It also brings together international and local partners including UNDP, Huawei Egypt, Cisco Egypt, Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, and e& Egypt. Other collaborators include ICT Misr, Next Era Education, WE Innovate, Eyouth and YAT Leaning Centers.
The registration phase, orientation sessions and idea submissions have been completed on August 31st 2025. Furthermore, the competition is witnessing a wide range of participants from different age groups. The number of applicants exceeded 25 thousand contestants, forming more than 6,500 teams from different governorates across the country.
ICT Competition
Digitopia’s main tracks are software and artificial intelligence solutions, gaming and digital arts, and cybersecurity. Moreover, participants will present fully developed projects and innovative prototypes of digital solutions that contribute to tackling social and economic challenges.
The competition covers a wide range of age groups, starting from 10 years old to 35 years old. This targets school students, public, private, and national universities, as well as graduates, entrepreneurs, and startup founders,
The judging panel consists of more than 90 experts and specialists in innovation and digital technologies. They will evaluate ideas, projects, and solutions throughout the different stages of the competition in all three tracks.
