Get to Know MENA’s Most Notable Startup Funding Rounds this April

This month MENA startups were able to raise funds across different countries and fields in the region. This report will showcase the 10 most prominent investment rounds that were able to raise $266.8 million in April 2022.

Foodics, a cloud-based technology and payments platform for restaurants in the MENA region, came in top of the list with raising $170m in the largest SaaS Series C round in MENA. 

Millennial Brands, a consumer player specializing in launching and developing direct-to-consumer and digital brands, operating in the Middle East, came in second place with raising $35 million in a growth round.

Pylon, Egypt-based infrastructure management platform transforming electricity and water companies in emerging markets, raised $19m in a Seed funding round. Red Sea Farms, an AgriTech startup that enables commercial farming using low energy, zero freshwater sustainable climate control, raised $18.5m in a strategic fund raise. 

Zenda, a UAE-based FinTech startup for families, raised $9.4m in a seed investment round. The Food Lab, Egypt’s first cloud kitchen services operator, was able to raise $4.5m in a pre-seed fund round. Additionally, Qureos, a UAE-based EdTech startup, raised $3m in its pre-seed round.

UAE’s B2B AgriTech digital platform, Right Farm, raised $2.7m in a Seed round. Similarly, Kaya, an e-commerce and logistics solutions company specializing in beauty and personal care, raised $2.6 million in a Seed funding round. Egypt’s mental wellness platform, O7 Therapy, raised $2.1m in a seed investment round.
