The funding will support product development and regional expansion, strengthening compliant, AI-ready data infrastructure across Saudi Arabia and MENA. - Launched in 2025, Governata helps institutions establish trusted data foundations for responsible adoption of enterprise AI, machine learning, and generative AI.

Saudi-based Governata raised USD 4 million in seed funding. The round saw participation from Joa Capital, abtal.vc, Sanabil Accelerator by 500 Global, Sadu Capital, and Plus VC. It also saw participation from Hyperscope Ventures, A-Typical Ventures, and Plug and Play.
Launched in 2025 by Khalid Almudayfir, Jehad Senan and Djamel Mohand, Governata is an enterprise data management and governance platform. It enables public and private institutions to build reliable, compliant, and AI-ready data foundations. Its AI-driven data management software seeks to reinforce data quality, governance, and classification, to ensure trustworthy, scalable, and effective AI adoption.

Looking forward, with the funding, it aims to accelerate its expansion across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. It also seeks to enable organizations to leverage data responsibly and effectively in the new era of AI-driven decision-making.

Additionally, it also aims to accelerate its product roadmap, further enhance its AI-driven decisioning capabilities, and support regional expansion. This step aims to enable faster and more accurate enterprise decision-making while ensuring full data localization and protection.
