What happened? Europe’s HR tech Nova raised USD 3.65 million (EUR 3.2M) to enhance its platform. The round was led by CDP Venture Capital, BY Venture Partners and Doha Tech Angels.
“We are proud to welcome new partners, both from Italy and the Middle East: the latter is a region where the scarcity of talent, compared to a steadily growing demand, represents a significant opportunity,’ said Andrea Marino, CEO and co-founder of Nova.
Who are they? Founded in 2020 by Andrea Marino, Ramón Rodrigáñez, and Lars-Henrik Friis Molin, Nova is a global talent community platform. It applies a
selective access and technology model in which all members must pass a rigorous selection process. Furthermore, this is to guarantee a community of high quality profiles where each connection is relevant.

What is next? With the newly acquired funding, the startup aims to expand its professional social network internationally and its operations in Italy. Additionally, it aims to develop its technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, it aims to allocate the funds in three directions. This includes entry and consolidation in the main European capitals, and enhancing its matching algorithm. In addition, it includes enhancing the Nova Recruiter, its SaaS B2B platform designed to transform recruiting by offering an alternative to LinkedIn.
“This funding not only validates our model, but also underlines the market’s interest in finding complementary platforms to LinkedIn that better solve, on the one hand, the challenges faced by talent in their career path, and on the other hand, the inefficiencies of recruiting processes, especially for a highly qualified and sought-after type of talent,” said Andrea Marino, CEO and co-founder of Nova.
