Saudi’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at” is launching a Media and Marketing week. It will run from July 20 to July 24 across its support centers in Riyadh, Madina, Jeddah,and Alkhobar. 

This initiative is bringing together over 70 public and private sector enablers. This will include the Ministry of Commerce, and the General Commission for Audiovisual Media. Additionally, it will include the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, and the Government Communication Center at the Ministry of Media.

The week will include more than 45 entrepreneurial sessions and consultation panels. These will aim to raise awareness among entrepreneurs about the investment opportunities in the media and marketing sectors. The participants will have access to a variety of government and private programs tailored to support SMEs. 

Through this week, Monsha’at aims to unlock new growth avenues for SMEs. Furthermore, this is part of a series of specialized themed weeks that the authority is 

Established in 2016, “Monsha’at” regulates, supports, and develops the SME sector in the Kingdom. It operates independently under the Ministry of Commerce. Moreover, it aims to increase the productivity of SMEs and raise their contribution to the GDP from 20% to 35% by 2030. 

Monsha’at’s mission is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. It develops, implements, and supports programs and projects to foster the entrepreneurial mindset. 

University Entrepreneurs 

The SME authority also recently launched the “University Entrepreneurs” competition. This competition aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among Saudi university students, faculty, and staff.

The program is designed to instill entrepreneurial thinking at an early stage through intensive training camps. Additionally, it seeks to empower participants to develop and scale their startup ideas. It targets students and affiliates of Saudi universities in order to transform academic projects into viable ventures.
