Pure Ice Cream, an Indian ice cream manufacturer with growing presence in the MENA region, is set to boost its annual production capacity by 300% with an AED 80 million investment in a new manufacturing facility at Dubai Industrial City.
This expansion, announced at SIAL Paris 2024, is designed to support both regional and global demand, increasing production to 30 million liters per year.
The facility will span 246,000 square feet and create over 300 jobs. It reflects Pure Ice Cream’s commitment to sustainability and growth, aligning with the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051.
The plant will feature sophisticated automated manufacturing systems and adhere to ISO 14001 environmental standards, demonstrating Pure Ice Cream’s focus on sustainability. It will also comply with FSSC22000 food safety standards, ensuring top-tier quality and environmental responsibility.
Pure Ice Cream Expanding Global Footprint
The company behind popular brands like Kwality and Hershey’s Ice Cream has positioned this new facility to support its growth strategy in key markets such as the GCC, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
With its proximity to major transport hubs, including Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, the facility will enhance export capabilities.
Vikram Seth, Managing Director at Pure Ice Cream Co., highlighted how this facility will allow the company to handle larger production volumes while exploring new business opportunities globally.
Strategic Fit and Market Impact
This development fits into the UAE’s broader economic strategy to boost the manufacturing sector. By aligning with the UAE National Food Security Strategy 2051, Pure Ice Cream contributes to a self-sustaining food and beverage sector.
The expansion also positions the company to compete in the global market, reflecting a wider trend of regional manufacturers stepping up production capabilities to meet growing international demand for high-quality, sustainable food products.
This move disrupts the regional dynamics by increasing competition in the food manufacturing sector while reinforcing Dubai’s role as a manufacturing hub.
