Jeddah-based startup Aanaab just scored $1.5 million in its first round of investment. The round was led by Nour Nouf Knowledge and Wamda Capital, with the participation of a few angel investors.

Reaching over 37,000 teachers in the Middle East, Aanaab has a 28% course completion rate, which is twice the global average.

Founded by Mounira Jamjoom in 2016, Aanaab provides Arabic educational resources on its website. They aim to help teachers work on their skills and education techniques.

Before founding Aanaab, Jamjoum received a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Oxford. In 2014, she served as Assistant Governor of Evaluation, Training and Education Commission (ETEC) of Saudi. She also established Emkaan Education, a school development and education advisory company.
