Snapchat has introduced a new feature that lets users capture photo and video using the front and back-facing cameras at the same time.

Initially announced back in April, the dual camera feature is part of Snapchat’s director mode, which is yet to be released. It is speculated that Snapchat’s dual camera mode was released to compete with BeReal, an up-and-coming photo-sharing app that offers the same feature.

Snapchat was also seen testing a feature called IG Candid, which also follows in BeReal’s footsteps and prompts users to prompts users to snap a picture using both cameras at a specific time of day.

Dual camera is available on iOS starting today, with Android following in the coming months.
