Suplyd just closed a $2 million pre-Series A round to expand its digital procurement platform for restaurants. The Cairo-based startup plans to go beyond distribution and build full-stack infrastructure for Egypt’s $10 billion HORECA supply chain.
4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC led the round. Seedstars and existing investors also joined in.
Suplyd launched in 2022 to fix a major problem—restaurants struggling with unreliable suppliers, delayed deliveries, and zero visibility. Its platform connects restaurants directly with suppliers and simplifies day-to-day procurement.
Since raising a $1.6 million pre-seed round, Suplyd has grown nearly 20x. It now serves over 5,000 restaurants across Egypt.
“Over the past four years, we’ve built Suplyd into a critical part of Egypt’s restaurant ecosystem,” said Gohar Said, Founder and CEO of Suplyd. “That progress comes with greater responsibility, and even greater ambition. What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants every day. We didn’t just witness the industry’s digital transformation. We helped lead it. And we’re just getting started.”
Suplyd plans to use the new funding to expand across Egypt and roll out new service verticals. The team is already working on tools to improve backend operations for restaurants.
Restaurants can order everything from ingredients to kitchen supplies through one dashboard. The platform offers real-time analytics, inventory management, and delivery tracking. It also helps operators cut waste and reduce costs.
Investors see strong potential in the model.
“Suplyd’s digital procurement platform serves the long tail of restaurants that are often overlooked,” said Peter Orth, Partner at 4DX Ventures. “Their early traction, strong supplier relationships, and diversified revenue streams reinforced our conviction.”
Hasan Haider, Founder and Managing Partner at Plus VC, added, “Suplyd has become a key enabler in the digital transformation of Egypt’s F&B sector. Their strong traction over the past four years reflects the team’s deep market insight and operational excellence.”
Suplyd isn’t just digitizing procurement. It’s building the rails for how restaurants run—starting with the supply chain and scaling into everything that keeps a kitchen moving.
