UAE Launches ‘The Emirates: The Startup Capital of World’ Campaign

Startup Capital

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has launched “The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World” campaign. This initiative aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said, “The campaign brings together more than 50 entities from both the public and private sectors, with the aim of training and nurturing 10,000 Emirati entrepreneurs, creating thousands of economic opportunities, and raising community awareness on the importance of leveraging the economic momentum the country is witnessing.”

The campaign seeks to provide Emirati youth comprehensive support, helping them tap into the UAE’s dynamic economic landscape. It aims to do so through a connected ecosystem of initiatives, platforms, and specialised programmes. These will be designed to drive innovation, accelerate business, and diversify the national economy.

Entrepreneurship 

Overseen by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in partnership with the UAE Government Media Office and the UAE Entrepreneurship Council, the initiative unites more than 50 incubators and accelerators. It also draws in a wide network of public and private sector partners, national institutions, and academic entities. This is to create an inclusive environment that develops entrepreneurial talent and unlocks fresh economic opportunities.

The campaign includes a series of specialised programmes and initiatives, most notably: 

  • StartupEmirates.ae Platform: Aims to attract 10,000 entrepreneurs and create 30,000 jobs by 2030.
  • Entrepreneurship Training Programme: Trains 10,000 Emiratis with skills from startup basics to global expansion.
  • Specialised Content Creator Programme: Prepares 50 Emiratis to produce content on economics and entrepreneurship.
  • Project Management Experts Programme: Licenses 500 Emiratis to manage residential construction projects.
  • UAE Tax Agent Programme: Certifies 500 Emiratis as tax agents within three years.
  • Real Estate Companies Launch: Supports the creation of 250 Emirati-owned real estate firms.
  • Young Entrepreneurs & Graduate Business Expo: Promotes entrepreneurship in schools and showcases graduate projects.
  • Entrepreneur Participation in Federal Procurement: Expands startup access to government tenders with training support.
