What happened? UAE-based legaltech startup, Qanooni, raised USD 2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Village Global, Salica Investments, TA Ventures, and several angel investors.

What is next? With the newly acquired funding, the startup aims to support the next phase of Qanooni’s development. This includes expanding its team and scaling operations in both the UAE and UK.
Additionally, it aims to introduce a range of new tools, including end-to-end agentic workflows, deeper platform customisation, and wider third-party integrations. Furthermore, this all aims to further modernize legal operations.

Who are they? The platform was co-founded by Anuscha Iqbal, Ziyaad Ahmed, and Karim Shiyab. It aims to help modern legal teams work more efficiently. Furthermore, it aims to enable faster drafting, more accurate reviews, targeted legal research, and seamless matter management. This while protecting institutional memory and client trust.
How does it work? Qanooni integrates directly into Microsoft Outlook and Word. This enables lawyers to draft, review, research, and manage matter using AI without abandoning the existing tools they use.
In addition, Qanooni technology adapts to each law firm;s specific way of working. Its adaptive technology learns and mirrors the unique language formation, and compliance standards of each firm. Additionally, it ensures enterprise-grade data protection.In short, Qanooni molds itself to work like the law firm does while keeping everything secure.
