At the core of Abu Dhabi’s innovation drive stands Hub71, a player in shaping the city’s global startup reputation. The community now hosts nearly 300 startups that have collectively raised USD 2.45 billion (AED 9B). Additionally, they have generated USD 1.36 billion (AED 5B) in revenue. 

Hub71 CEO Ahmad Ali Alwan said Abu Dhabi’s tech ecosystem is steadily expanding internationally through new programmes and partnerships. The latest expansion includes Hong Kong, where Hub71 launched a startup integration initiative and strategic collaborations to support global growth. These efforts align with Abu Dhabi’s wider mission to open new markets and position itself as a launchpad for global innovation.

Standout Startups

  • Abu Dhabi-based Aurem raised USD 7 million to develop advanced solutions for the financial services sector.
  •  UK-based Vivan Therapeutics raised USD 4.6 million to establish new laboratories in Abu Dhabi. This is in collaboration with local medical centres to apply its cancer-treatment technologies. 
  • Fintech Mansa raised USD 10 million and partners with multiple payment firms across and beyond the UAE. It also benefits from Hub71’s network in building links between public and private sectors. 
  • Abu-Dhabi based Monit generated USD 3 million in revenue aiming to establish an assembly line in Abu Dhabi for manufacturing and exporting its devices across the region.

Bottom line: Hub71’s growth reflects Abu Dhabi’s steady progress in building a sustainable, globally connected technology and startup ecosystem. It underscores the emirate’s long-term strategy to position innovation and entrepreneurship at the center of its economic diversification goals.
