Step Anywhere is kicking off its second edition online on March 29th with a lineup of ecosystem thought leaders discussing the region’s most pressing issues. One panel we’re really excited about is the one happening at 3:45 PM (GST), hosting Anghami’s Co-founder Elie Habib and MEVP’s Chief Exit Officer Rabih Khoury, and moderated by Fadi Ghandour, Founder of Aramex and Wamda. This panel will discuss the latest Anghami milestone of going public and talk about the future of IPOs and local stock exchanges in MENA and emerging markets.
“Being a U.S. listed public company gives us access to growth capital and a global platform that is the best in the world,” says Anghami co-founder and CEO Eddy Maroun. On March 3, Anghami announced that it will become the first Arab tech company to list on the Nasdaq after agreeing to merge with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).The transaction includes a $30 million commitment from UAE financial firm Shuaa Capital SHUA.DU and $10 million from the parent of the SPAC.
