AUC Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation partners with Shorooq Partners to launch a VC Case Competition

AUC Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) partnered with Shorooq Partners, an early-stage venture capital fund, to launch a venture capital case competition, named Shorooq Partners Venture Capital Case Competition.

The competition will allow students to assume the role of a venture capitalist through a simulation, where they invest $100k in a real startup. Students will work with real-life data to create realistic content assessing a startup, performing in-depth due diligence, evaluating investment prospects, and developing investment plans that will be presented to a judging panel from Shorooq Partners.

The competition is targeting AUC multidisciplinary undergraduate junior and senior student teams only. The organizers also stated that in the upcoming rounds, the competition will be expanded to invite students from all Egyptian public and private universities.

Participants will also be exposed to a real startup pitch deck and a capacity-building training session provided by Shorooq Partners. A $4,000 prize will be given to the top teams which will be announced during the closing of the competition in February.
