Bloom, Sudan’s FinTech startup, raises $6.5m in a seed round

Bloom, Sudan-based FinTech startup and digital banking app, raised $6.5 million in a seed round. The funding round witnessed participation from Visa, Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital (GFC) and Goodwater Capital and VentureSouq alongside other venture funds and strategic angel investors.

The startup will use the fund to recruit world-class talent, invest in improving customer experience, and offer new and innovative financial services to our members in Sudan and the wider East Africa region.

Bloom, has become the first Sudanese company to join Visa’s selective Fintech Fast Tack program and is also the first Sudanese company in the Silicon Valley’s Y combinator.
