Fanzword, the Dubai-based Football Fan Engagement platform announced it secured a 1.2 million USD investment in a pre-seed round led by XVC Tech.
The platform enters into a partnership with XVC Tech, a 125 million USD fund specializing in early-stage Web3 start-ups.
The partnership included the $1.2 million investment commitment led by XVC Tech and other angel Investors from the region.
This strategic collaboration not only secures Fanzword’s path to regional dominance but also sets a new benchmark for web3 gaming in the Middle East.
In a world where football unites billions, Fanzword has emerged as the ultimate platform for passionate fans.
The platform attracted over 250,000 downloads, a staggering 15 million predictions, and an outstanding 4.7/5 rating on Apple Store and Google Play, Fanzword has earned its place as the go-to destination for football aficionados.
The journey began in 2021 when Fanzword’s co-founders, Ibrahim El Mohdar and Amr El-Beheiry, set out to create more than just an app—they aimed to forge a virtual stadium where fans could not only follow their beloved teams but also connect, interact, and earn mega rewards.
“We believe that it’s the perfect time to leverage a Football Fan Engagement Platform in the Middle East,” said Ibrahim El Mohdar, Co-Founder & CEO at Fanzword. “Especially after the resounding success of the World Cup in Qatar and the Saudi Pro League’s blockbuster signings of football legends like C. Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., and Benzema.”
Johan Lundberg, Founding Partner and Board Member at XVC Tech, shares the enthusiasm, stating, “We believe that the partnership with Fanzword will not only reshape web3 gaming but also accelerate the adoption of NextGen Technology Solutions in the Middle East and beyond.”
Fanzword’s explosive growth in 2022, with a user base increase of 120x, sets the stage for exciting new features like Football Fantasy. But that’s just the beginning.
Amr El-Beheiry, Co-Founder & CCO at Fanzword, envisions Fanzword as “the one-stop shop for football fans worldwide—a colossal virtual stadium where the NextGen can unite.”
