OmniOps, the first Saudi Arabia-based AI infrastructure provider, has closed an USD 8 million funding round led by GMS Capital Ventures. This investment will enable the AI provider to scale operations, boost R&D, and further AI infrastructure advancements in Saudi Arabia.
Founded in 2024 by Saudi entrepreneur Mohammed Altassan, with tech advisor and board member Zaid Farekh, OmniOps addresses the growing demand for AI technology in Saudi Arabia. The company specializes in building sustainable, energy-efficient, cloud-native high-performance computing (HPC) clusters customized to client needs.
AI Inference Cluster and ML Ops Development
The company is also developing a sovereign AI inference cluster with integrated Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops) features to streamline deployment and improve efficiency. These innovations will also provide scalable infrastructure, helping enterprises and government entities accelerate their AI development.
CEO’s Vision for AI Efficiency
“At OmniOps, our mission is to empower organizations with advanced solutions that are both efficient and scalable,” said CEO Mohammed Altassan.
“Optimizing AI infrastructure through OmniOps helps clients reduce GPU power consumption by 50% and double their workload speed, improving GPU inference efficiency up to 14x. This allows them to embrace AI with enhanced power management and lower Total Cost of Ownership.”
Importance of AI in Saudi Vision 2030
Furthermore, this investment reflects the growing importance of AI in Saudi Arabia, a key pillar of Vision 2030.
The Saudi National Strategy for Data and AI emphasizes data sovereignty, privacy, and local content. This will be across key sectors like government, energy, aviation, and healthcare, making OmniOps’ services vital in this ecosystem.
