  • The She Impulse initiative, led by AFEM, offers comprehensive support through digital learning platforms, mentorship, and funding.
  • The initiative targets critical areas like marketing, technology, and manufacturing.
  • Supported by major stakeholders including the EBRD, Ministry of Industry, and local banks.

A new initiative “She Impulse” is poised to reshape the landscape of women-led businesses in Morocco, providing comprehensive support to help women grow their businesses through a variety of learning and development tools.

AFEM’s Leadership and Regional Development Plan

The Moroccan Women Entrepreneurs Association (AFEM) is at the forefront of this effort, as part of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Development Plan, which prioritizes job creation, innovation, and business growth.

“This partnership shows how much we value women in business. With the right support, they can drive real change in the economy. Our goal is to build an ecosystem that stimulates innovation and gives women the skills to thrive in key sectors.”

AFEM president Leila Doukali said in an interview with Morocco World News (MWN).

She Impulse, a key component of this initiative, operates in three main areas. The first, She Learn, is a digital learning platform that offers courses in marketing, technology, and management. Supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), this platform aims to equip women with the skills necessary to succeed in a modern business environment.

The second area, She Start, provides businesswomen with access to mentors, investors, and advanced technological tools to help scale their startups.

Additionally, She Industrial is a project designed to integrate women into the manufacturing sector, offering vital resources like funding, training, and professional connections to enhance their business ventures.

Abdellatif Maazouz, head of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, described this initiative as “a key step in our plan to make women part of the region’s economic success.”

Collaborative Efforts and Impact

With additional support from the Ministry of Industry, local banks, and international organizations, the program has the potential to make a lasting impact on the business landscape. Doukali highlighted the collaboration, saying, “With so many key players working together, we can make a real impact. This isn’t just a local effort. It’s part of a larger push for women’s economic empowerment.”

She Impulse also emphasizes the role of women in emerging sectors like green industries and digital innovation. Maazouz expressed confidence in the program’s ability to prepare women for global markets, adding, “By helping women adapt to new markets and technologies, we’re preparing them for a globalized world.”

With AFEM leading the charge, the program aims to empower thousands of women by providing them with the training, funding, and networks they need to become successful entrepreneurs.
