Saudi Arabia’s logistics platform Torod raises $1.3m in a seed round

Torod, Saudi Arabia’s logistics platform, raises $1.3 million in a Seed round. This round was led by IMPACT46, and witnessed participation from several local investors such as Hala Venture and Seedra Venture.

The platform specializes in e-commerce and logistics, allowing manufacturers to sell and ship their products online directly to end-consumers, by partnering with various courier companies including SPL, J&T, SMSA & DHL.

“To meet these expectations, e-commerce has to enhance the delivery checkout experience and make sure it’s backed by the best-fit delivery partner reflecting the same values merchants are aspiring to. Here Torod comes to help the merchants control and monitor the whole process by catering to customers’ variant needs” says Faisal Al Mukhles, CEO & Co-founder of Torod.

With the newly-acquired capital, Torod plans on developing its cost-effective and efficient shipping process for D2C retailers, as well as develop the post-order experience for both the merchants and the consumer alike.

“The e-commerce sector is one of the highest growing sectors locally and globally, and that is why we, in Hala Ventures, were keen to invest in the sector by enabling merchants through Torod platform. We believe that Torod will be an added value to e-commerce platforms.” Hussain Almarhoon, Founder and Managing Partner at Hala Venture commented.
