What happened? Saudi edtech startup Taawoni closed a USD 1.6 million investment round led by M Capital and other investors.

What’s next? With the funding, it aims to further innovate and integrate into the education and HR tech ecosystems across the region. In addition, it aims to support its growth and expansion into new markets. 

Edtech

Who are they? Founded in 2021 by Aliyah Alghubayn, Taawoni is a cooperative training and professional development platform. It aims to make it more efficient for universities and organizations to collaborate on co-op training programs. Co-op training programs give students nearing graduation real-world work experience before they finish their degrees.

So in short, Taawoni streamlines and digitizes the entire training cycle from onboarding to tracking and evaluation.

Taawoni is building a smart platform that connects universities with the labor market by automating internship programs and offering AI-powered professional development solutions. 

Additionally, it offers AI powered international learning and mentorship platforms (LMPs). These are designed to support professional development across industries  Furthermore, it aims to help institutions develop talent in line with the Kingdom;s workforce needs.
Bottom line:  As Saudi Arabia pushes to align education with labor market demands, Taawoni is tapping into a growing need for smarter, tech-driven internship and professional development solutions. The funding will support its efforts to expand and integrate more deeply into the region’s education and HR tech infrastructure.
