Sharjah Fast-Tracks Business Setup With One-Day Instant License

Instant License

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) launched an ‘Instant License’ service. This is with the goal of promoting investment and attracting investors to the Emirate.

The launch came after obtaining approval from the Sharjah Executive Council. The aim is to enable investors and entrepreneurs to issue a commercial license immediately. Furthermore, this would enable licenses to be issued without a Memorandum of Association or a signed lease contract in the first year.

Additionally, this license aims to enable investors to conduct their business immediately through accelerating and reducing procedures. Thus, the aim is to aid investors run their activities or business in the first year. Then later on in the second year, they will be required to fulfill the special licensing requirements. 

Stimulating the Economy 

SEDD allows for the  ‘Instant License’  to be issued in one working day. This service will cover all office activities that do not require approvals from other authorities. In addition, it will allow a maximum of three employees per licence. 

The issuance of the ‘Instant License’ service essentially seeks to foster various types of activities in order to increase the competitiveness of Sharjah. Additionally, it seeks to stimulate the business environment as well as position the emirate as an investment hub.

Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, stated that the Department works continuously to develop a legislative and regulatory environment to enhance business growth and support its continuity and sustainability in accordance with international best practices.
