The Solana Foundation, the organization behind the blockchain network, is launching a new Solana-themed store called “Solana Spaces” in New York City, which will double as a Web3 embassy and cultural center for the growing community.
There are many activities you can do in Solana Spaces. As explained in a tweet: “Inside [the store], you’ll learn how Solana works, what Web3 is. We’ll set you up with a wallet and your first NFTs, and guide you through your first on-chain transactions.” The space will also provide consumers with an interactive art installation, and plenty of Solana-branded merch for sale, including a limited run of Blanksoles sneakers.
The store opened to a select group of 30 visitors last weekend at The Shops mall at Hudson Yards in Manhattan.
Solana, the most popular alternative to the costly Ethereum blockchain, has the ninth largest cryptocurrency (SOL) by market capitalization. In June, Solana also debuted its own Android smartphone Solana Saga to be released in early 2023.
