South African based, climate tech platform, Insight Terra secures USD 5.7 million in a funding round. The round was led by E3 Capital, Fireball Capital, Atlantic Bridge, Globalive, and JLR Star

Expansion

With the funding, Insight Terra aims to expand its commercial and technical teams to scale its support for global industries. In addition to aiding clients in ensuring staff safety and complying with the demands of international standards. Furthermore, the platform’s CEO, Alastair Bovim, states that this investment showcases a commitment to tech-enabled solutions to address climate change.

“The investment will enable us to accelerate the development and expansion of our platform’s capabilities to comprehensively tackle some of the more complex monitoring, reporting, and verification challenges faced by various industries today,” said Alastair Bovim, co-founder and CEO of Insight Terra.

Insight Terra

The Insight Platform is a fully managed  Edge to Cloud Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) data management software-as-a-service. Furthermore, the platform specializes in environmental risk management and transforms complex data into actionable insights. It aims to utilize real-time analytics to enable organizations to effectively monitor and mitigate their environmental impact. These analytics focus within critical environmental and infrastructure verticals such as mining, energy, geo-hazards and water resources. Moreover,this is to ensure and improve compliance with regulatory efforts. 

The platform’s CEO expressed that there is a need for advanced digital technologies in South Africa. This is because climate change is threatening critical infrastructure and thus the wellbeing of communities and the environment.
