Wize, a Dubai-based specializing in sustainable last-mile delivery solutions, has successfully secured $16 million in a pre-Seed funding round. The funding was co-led by angel investors with a keen focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), according to a company statement.

The investment is earmarked for bolstering Wize’s presence in the UAE market, advancing product development, and exploring strategic partnerships in the broader MENA region.

In contrast to competitors, Wize has pioneered the development of a comprehensive ecosystem designed to assist delivery and retail businesses in meeting the UAE’s stringent net-zero requirements and aligning with the UAE Green Agenda.

The Wize ecosystem encompasses a range of services, including electric motorcycles, a Wize rental and subscription platform for 24/7 fleet management, battery-as-a-service, swapping stations, and software components.

Wize stands out by offering subscription-based electric motorcycles tailored to enhance the sustainability of delivery operations across the UAE. The motorcycle options—swift, rapid, and speedy—cater to diverse business needs and budgets, all adhering to UAE regulations for courier transport, including standardized delivery boxes as per RTA requirements.

Businesses opting for electric motorcycles through Wize can experience up to a 30% reduction in transportation costs per month.

The Wize Rental and Subscription Online Platform empowers business owners to optimize their bottom line while contributing to environmental sustainability.

The platform allows clients to manage their fleets remotely, gathering crucial data on driver behavior, location, speed, and charge levels of connected vehicles.

Additionally, Wize’s platform is adaptable as a white-label solution, offering logistics companies the ability to rent out their vehicles.

In an innovative move, Wize has become the first company to install battery-swapping stations in the UAE, known as Wize Power. These stations facilitate seamless battery exchanges for drivers, adapted to UAE weather conditions and frequently used in deliveries. The Battery Swap App enhances efficiency by enabling drivers to search and reserve batteries in advance and stay informed about charge levels.

Wize places a strong emphasis on the software component of battery-as-a-service, boasting proprietary software for managing battery swapping stations and monitoring the condition of all batteries.

Notably, Wize has developed the first-of-its-kind UAE-compliant software, ensuring that all data remains within the UAE, in full adherence to local laws.

Alexander Lemzakov, co-founder and CEO of Wize, highlighted the company’s commitment to the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030. He expressed pride in offering an innovative full-service solution that empowers retailers and delivery companies to progress toward achieving net-zero emissions and significantly reducing their carbon footprint.

Wize is actively engaged in forming partnerships with prominent delivery companies in the region. The company has already inked a long-term partnership with Motoboy, the UAE’s inaugural sustainable logistics firm, with a strategic aim of achieving zero-carbon emissions through the exclusive use of electric bikes.

This collaboration positions Wize to oversee all facets of motorcycle usage, comprehensively understanding the needs of clients and delivery companies.

According to data from the World Economic Forum, the number of delivery vehicles in the largest 100 cities globally is anticipated to increase by 36% by 2030.

Carbon emissions from delivery traffic are expected to surge by 32%, contributing to an additional 6 million tons of CO2. Realizing a transformative shift toward a more sustainable last mile necessitates coordination and collaboration across the ecosystem.
