History was made in COP27 when a loss and damage fund for developing countries was agreed upon, this was the first time governments take the historic decision of establishing new funding arrangements, as well as a dedicated fund, to assist developing countries in responding to loss and damage.

Egypt’s digital pharmacy platform Grinta was able to raise $8m in a seed funding round co-led by Raed Ventures and Nclude. The startup said it will use the raised funds to scale its full-stack tech platform, grow the team, and expand growth across the Egyptian market. 

Klivvr receives the Central Bank of Egypt’s approval to launch its app and prepaid card. The Klivvr Card was launched in partnership with Masria Digital Payments (MDP), enabling the issuance of cards, as well as transaction processing services. Klivvr also partnered with Visa earlier this year.

Two MENA players Foodics and Paymob partnered to integrate the Foodics restaurant management system with Paymob’s POS devices. The collaboration will also enable Foodics’ restaurants to expand their acceptance of all card payments using Paymob’s POS devices in aims to elevate the F&B industry in Egypt.
