Amazon launches its Amazon Prime service in Egypt

For the first time in Egypt, Amazon–the e-commerce company–announces the launch of Amazon Prime. In a campaign to promote its new platform, Amazon users will have access to all the benefits of Amazon Prime for free for 30 days, then the subscription will cost EGP29 per month or EGP249 yearly.

“We are pleased to offer our customers in Egypt a new product from Amazon, offering value, comfort and fun. We will continue to provide global knowledge with local expertise to meet their needs.” Said Omar El-Sahi, general manager of Amazon Egypt.

Amazon Prime users have access to many benefits, including free shipping on the same day the order is complete, exclusive discounts and offers for Prime users. Also, Amazon’s cooperation with Orange has been announced to provide many electronic payment options.

The advantages of Amazon Prime are not limited to online shopping only. This subscription allows its users to enjoy many entertainments, including watching exclusive Prime movies and series, and Prime Music Service, which allows them to listen to more than a million songs.

“This is just day one for Prime in Egypt; we will continue to make it even better by adding more choices to the store, making delivery faster, adding more high-quality digital entertainment, and introducing new and impactful features.” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.
