The social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, is not allowing users to promote their accounts on the platform, Reuters reported citing Tech news website Xios.
It is noted that the promoted accounts were delivering revenue of more than US$100 million annually, according to reporters.
Business owners were largely depending on that service to promote their businesses, however, no explanation behind the action is yet announced.
As Linda Yaccarino joined the X platform as a new CEO on June 5, she worked on bringing back advertisers who left Alon Musk’s changes.
Users have been attached to the blue icon of the bird as it was always connected with the idea of twitting posts and thoughts.
The Twitter name and its bird-related vocabulary have been used since 2006 .
