  • The FDA accreditation positions Nawah Scientific among global laboratories, influencing both the company and Egypt’s food market positively, and fostering potential partnerships with international bodies like the UN World Food Programme.

Nawah Scientific, an Egyptian scientific research and analysis institution, has recently attained a significant milestone by securing accreditation from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its food analysis and safety procedures, according to media reports.

Originally established as a startup, Nawah Scientific has played a pivotal role in scientific research and analysis.

The startup received financial and technical support from Egypt Ventures, a fund initiated by the Ministry of International Cooperation, the General Authority for Investment, Free Zones, and the National Investment Bank. This fund is dedicated to direct and indirect investments in startups, entrepreneurship, and small-scale businesses.

This accomplishment positions Nawah Scientific as the inaugural center in Africa to receive such esteemed recognition.

The FDA accreditation holds particular importance for Egyptian and African companies, eliminating the need and cost of sending samples abroad for analysis.

This advancement represents a substantial leap in facilitating exports to the US market and concurrently fortifies the domestic food industry in Egypt.

Omar Sakr, the Founder and CEO of Nawah Scientific, underscores the significance of the company’s recent FDA accreditation, a milestone previously achieved only by European firms.

This achievement positions Nawah Scientific prominently among world-class laboratories and research centers, exerting a positive influence on both the company and Egypt’s food market.

Furthermore, it opens avenues for partnerships with international bodies such as the UN World Food Programme, offering cost and time savings for Egyptian exporters seeking to analyze their products before exporting to the US.
