In a blog post, TikTok announced that they’re expanding their suite of creation tools to include ‘TikTok Now’, a feature similar to BeReal that gives users a new way to “create and connect”, and one that “fosters authentic and spontaneous connections on TikTok.”
The blog post reads: “Making possible deeper connection and entertainment in a fun format, TikTok Now invites you and your friends to capture what you’re doing in the moment using your device’s front and back camera. You’ll receive a daily prompt to capture a 10-second video or a static photo to easily share what you’re up to.”
Similar to BeReal, which sends its users a push notification telling them “it’s time to BeReal,” TikTok Now users are notified between lightning emojis that it is “Time to Now.”
The feature is now available to U.S. users.
