Egypt’s transport and military production ministries signed a $27.6 million contract to locally produce 100 electric buses. The buses will be used in Phase 1 of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line along Greater Cairo’s Ring Road.

Moving to prominent funding rounds this week, Bahrain’s FoodTech startup Calo raised $13 million in a Pre-Series A round, the startup aims to use the funds to double down on the GCC market, serve new categories, and explore opportunities for regional and international expansion.

In markets, Majid Al Futtaim signed a $1.25 billion Sustainability Linked Loan (SLL) with First Abu Dhabi Bank, the SLL aims to facilitate the reduction in Majid Al Futtaim’s carbon footprint by reducing its emissions and implementing LEED certification for its buildings as well as improving gender diversity by 32% within the organization.

The latest news in the tech space is that there is no more page 3 of Google’s search engine, Google opts for continuous scrolling expanding on its existing mobile feature for US users, Google has announced that it will introduce a ‘continuous scrolling’ feature for English-language queries on desktop.
