Lezzoo, Iraq’s on-demand delivery startup, acquires Saydo

Lezzoo, Iraqi on-demand delivery startup, acquired Saydo, a B2B marketplace in Iraq. This acquisition comes in line with Lezzoo’s B2B expansion plans in emerging markets starting with digitizing Iraq’s food supply chain.

Saydo was founded by Gillian Harshami and Mohammed Azeed in August 2021 as a B2B marketplace connecting retailers and suppliers of FMCG products. Lezzoo was founded in 2018 by Alaa Battal, Rekar Botany, and Yadgar Merani.

“We are excited to join forces with Gillian and Mohammed and the amazing team at Saydo, their hyperlocal understanding of the Iraqi market is profound, and we believe that our visions are in harmony toward reinventing the B2B ecosystem across the region. We are committed to innovate in our space and continue on our mission of building an end-to-end solution for restaurants and retailers in Iraq with the leverage of our technology,” Yadgar Merani, Founder and CEO of Lezzoo, said.
