The initiative aims to reach more than 2,000 young entrepreneurs nationwide, backing early-stage ventures with funding, incubation, and technical support.
Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports launched the second phase of an entrepreneurship initiative. The initiative intends to support young innovators through funding, incubation, and technical assistance.
The initiative targets the participation of more than 2,000 young men and women from governorates across Egypt. Selected projects will receive financial and technical support of up to around USD 4 thousand (EGP 200K) during the incubation period. This aims to help participants develop their ideas into projects capable of competing in the market.
Why You Should Care
Early-stage entrepreneurs often need more than funding to transform an idea into a sustainable business. Through a combination of financial support, technical assistance, and incubation services, the initiative seeks to help young founders develop innovative projects and build successful business models.
The program also aligns with efforts to promote entrepreneurship among young people. Additionally, it supports a knowledge-based economy by encouraging participants to pursue and develop their own ventures.
Projects submitted to the initiative will undergo an evaluation process. Furthermore, the strongest projects will be selected to receive funding and technical support to develop their ideas into successful business models.
The ministry has invited interested applicants to register for the second phase through the initiative’s online application portal.
The latest phase builds on the first edition of the program. The ministry recently convened the initiative’s judging committee at the Youth Innovation & Education Center in Gezira, with representatives from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in attendance.
The committee selected the top 10 startups from among the projects that reached the final stage of the initiative’s first edition. These startups will receive funding, technical and logistical support, as well as an incubation program lasting up to nine months.
The Ripple
The initiative could help bring more young entrepreneurs into Egypt’s innovation ecosystem by providing both funding and structured support. By targeting more than 2,000 participants from different governorates, the program aims to expand access to entrepreneurship opportunities and encourage wider participation in innovation-driven ventures.
The combination of financial support, technical assistance, and incubation may also help participants move more quickly from the idea stage to developing viable projects. For many aspiring founders, access to mentorship and operational support can play an important role in turning promising concepts into sustainable businesses.
What to Watch
The next milestone will be the selection of projects participating in the initiative’s second phase and their progress throughout the incubation period. The experience gained from the first edition, including the selection of 10 winning startups for funding and support, provides a foundation for the program’s continued development.
The initiative aims to strengthen entrepreneurship among young people and create additional pathways for innovative ideas to reach the market.
