Among Egypt’s Arab trade partners, Kuwait ranks third, following the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Globally, Kuwait holds the fifth position in terms of investment in Egypt.
In 2021, the number of Kuwaiti companies operating in Egypt reached 1,337. Notably, the Kuwaiti private sector has allocated $10 billion for investments in various sectors including tourism, finance, manufacturing, real estate, agriculture, ICT, and services.
The joint investments between the two countries amount to $4.27 billion, distributed across 1,305 ventures.
The finance sector accounts for 39.7 percent of these investments, followed by the oil sector at 19.7 percent. Additionally, Kuwaiti investments in Egypt are diversified, with 10.8 percent allocated to the industrial sector and the remainder spread among agriculture and retail.
