– The new phase is expected to generate around 1,000 new jobs in the supply chain, building on the first phase’s success, which currently produces over 1.5 million units and has created 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.
– Products from the Haier Eco-Friendly Complex will not only meet domestic demand but will also be exported to African, Middle Eastern, and European markets without customs duties, contributing to the company’s regional growth.
Haier Group, the leading Chinese home appliances manufacturer, has officially laid the foundation for the second phase of its Eco-Friendly Complex in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. This expansion will cover an additional 50,000 square meters and involves a $40 million investment, with a targeted production capacity of 300,000 units, including refrigerators and freezers, according to Ahmed El-Gendy, Haier’s Director in Egypt.
This new phase builds upon the first phase, which was inaugurated in May 2023 with a $100 million investment and includes three factories and supporting facilities. Currently, the first phase produces over 1.5 million units and has generated 2,000 direct and indirect jobs. The upcoming second phase is projected to create approximately 1,000 new jobs within the supply chain.
In addition to fulfilling domestic demand, products from the Haier Eco-Friendly Complex will also be exported to markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, free from customs duties, thereby enhancing Haier’s growth in the region.
