The Saudi Small and Medium Enterprises Authority “Monsha’at” has launched a new accelerator program, Al-Tomor in three cities, Al-Madina, Al-Koseem, and Al-Ahsa’.

The program aims to develop small and medium enterprises, working in the dates industry in the Kingdom. It will connect the participants to investors and help them with local and international agriculture strategies.

Sami Al-Hossiny, Governor of Planning and Development at Monsha’at announced earlier in a statement that the program will inject around SAR 3 million in 30 Saudi startups, operating in the agricultural sector.

Al-Hossiny also added that the program will include holding several orientation sessions in the dates industry, alongside supporting companies working in this sector with market research, marketing and financial planning.

The accelerator will foster startups as well in other tasks including team building, organization hierarchy, financial and sales strategies, in addition to law consultations and copyrights issues.

Monsha’at was established in 2016 to support productivity of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom to increase their portion of GDP from 20% to 35% by 2030.
