Terraa, a Morocco-based food distribution platform, raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by FoodLabs. The round witnessed participation from other investors: UM6P Ventures, Outlierz Ventures, Musha Ventures, and DFS Lab.
Terraa plans to use the funding to strengthen its logistics infrastructure and expand across Morocco and explore new markets within the region.
Terraa was founded in 2022 by Youssef Benkirane and Benoit De Vigne, the startup sources fresh food directly from farmers and delivers it to resellers.
It intends to provide a consistent and competitively priced market for the produce, helping farmers cut back on the post-harvest losses often driven by a lack of markets, especially in times of overproduction.
